Our Story

Syracuse, New York

Tim and Alex first met on a chilly fall day at Syracuse University. It was Saturday afternoon and they were the only two students working in studio so naturally they introduced themselves. Tim will tell you Alex asked him for Photoshop help but Alex doesn’t quite remember it that way. Regardless of how things began, they quickly became friends and enjoyed running into one another around Smith Hall. A few weeks later, the industrial design department held their annual date auction to raise money for future trips to New York City. Tim bid on a date with Alex and she bid on a date with him. Their friendship evolved into something a bit more serious as they went on their first date followed closely by a second, a third, and well, you get the picture.

Kansas City, Missouri

After two years of Scrabble games at Recess Coffee, countless trips to Pasta’s Daily Bread, late night studio shenanigans, separate study abroad trips in London and Alex’s graduation, the pair found themselves in Kansas City for an internship at Hallmark Cards. Alex was hired by the end of the summer and Tim had an offer before finishing his last year at Syracuse. They were proud to make KC their home for the next five years, enjoying heated kickball games with friends, concerts in Lawrence and frequenting Murray’s for Grape-Nuts ice cream. In August 2015, while Alex was on a business trip in China, Tim snuck away to Buffalo to discuss his intentions with her parents.

 Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland

Several months later the two went on an adventure to Iceland, exploring the narrow streets of Reykjavík and touring the rugged countryside in their equally as rugged Toyota Yaris. On the third day of their trip they visited Jökulsárlón, a picturesque glacial lake in the south of Iceland. As Alex took photos of Tim standing on the shores of the lake he slowly slid the ring from his jacket pocket and patiently waited for Alex to notice what he was holding. Slightly stunned, Alex stood holding her camera still partially covering her face as Tim knelt down and asked if they could spend the rest of their lives together. Without missing a beat Alex said "yes." They spent the final days of their trip excited about the prospect of sharing many new adventures in their future ahead.
